Sue Egan
DSU Board of Directors
Sue Egan has served on the Duxbury Student Union Board since 2023, bringing both professional expertise and a parent’s perspective to her role. Her son, now an 8th grader at Duxbury Middle School, attended DSU’s after-school program in 4th and 5th grade. Through his experience, Sue saw firsthand how transformative DSU’s programs are, not only for students, but for the broader community and felt called to contribute to that mission.
Dr. Egan is the Director of Behavioral and Mental Health Services for the Hanover Public Schools, where she has worked for 24 years. She holds a doctorate in clinical psychology and has served in a range of leadership roles, including Special Education Administrator, Interim Student Services Director, Guidance Director, and School Psychologist. For more than 15 years, she also maintained a part-time private practice as a Licensed Educational Psychologist.
Sue brings to the DSU Board deep experience in program creation, professional development, community resource-building, event planning, and a comprehensive understanding of children’s social-emotional needs across developmental stages. Her background gives her a unique lens into how supportive environments help young people build resilience, confidence, and a sense of belonging – values at the heart of DSU’s work.
What Sue loves most about DSU is the unwavering commitment of its staff and board to continually expand opportunities for Duxbury’s youth. Being part of the DSU community allows her to support work she believes truly shapes the next generation – one relationship, one skill, and one confident young person at a time.
