Holly Cristofaro

DSU Board of Directors

Holly Cristofaro is a licensed clinical social worker and the founder of Gurnet Light Counseling, where she provides compassionate, evidence-based support to individuals and families navigating chronic, serious, and life-limiting illnesses. Over the past 20 years, she has worked across a wide range of clinical settings, bringing deep expertise in mental health, crisis response, and family systems.

Holly holds a Bachelor of Social Work from Siena College and a Master of Social Work from SUNY Albany. She is licensed in both Massachusetts and New Hampshire and is known for her thoughtful, steady presence in moments when families need it most.

Service has been central to Holly’s life and career. For more than 25 years, she has volunteered with the American Red Cross, providing disaster mental health support during local, regional, and national crises — including 9/11, major hurricanes, and wildfires. Most recently, she has expanded her community work through the New England Disabled Sports Program at Loon Mountain, supporting adaptive athletes and inclusive recreation.

Holly’s connection to DSU is both professional and personal. As a mother of three whose children have participated in numerous DSU programs, she has seen firsthand how the organization nurtures confidence, resilience, and a sense of belonging. She is particularly aligned with DSU’s commitment to developing essential life skills and supporting the whole student — emotionally, socially, and academically.

Proud to serve on the DSU Board of Directors, Holly brings her clinical expertise, her dedication to youth well-being, and her deep belief in the power of community. She sees DSU as a vital part of Duxbury’s fabric — a place where young people feel safe, supported, and ready to take flight.
