Erica Herrmann
Group Leader
Erica Herrmann brings a global perspective and a deep commitment to youth development to her role as a counselor at the Duxbury Student Union. With more than 20 years of experience working with young people across cultures, ages, and communities, she brings empathy, steadiness, and a natural ability to connect with students.
A Duxbury native and DHS graduate, Erica’s path has taken her from local babysitter to Peace Corps Volunteer in Cambodia, where she founded the school’s first girls’ club and first girls’ basketball team — early examples of her instinct to create safe, empowering spaces for youth. Her career in public service, including roles at Peace Corps Headquarters and the U.S. Departments of Labor and State, strengthened her skills in communication, problem-solving, and cultural understanding.
At DSU, Erica uses this rich experience to help students feel seen, supported, and confident. She brings a calm, encouraging presence to the after-school environment and believes deeply in the power of kindness, mentorship, and community to help young people grow.
Erica is grateful to be back in the town where her journey began, investing her time and heart into the next generation of Duxbury kids — nurturing curious, compassionate, globally minded young people ready to take flight.
