Middle School CEO Program
For Students in Grades 6–8
Building life skills that last a lifetime.
Middle school is where independence begins, and where confidence takes root.
The DSU CEO Program (Chief Everything Officer) helps students in grades 6–8 step into that exciting stage with purpose, resilience, and a sense of ownership over their lives.
At DSU, we believe every student has the potential to lead, not just others, but themselves. Through daily coaching, real-world experiences, and a caring after-school community, CEO students learn how to organize, communicate, problem-solve, and navigate challenges with confidence.
This is not a tutoring program. It’s a launchpad for life.
Students discover what success looks like for them – and build the habits, mindset, and skills that will carry them through high school, college, and beyond.
Why Families Love the CEO Program
The CEO Program goes beyond homework help. It gives students the tools to manage their days, their emotions, and their goals. By learning to take charge, they become the Chief Everything Officers of their own futures.

CEO students learn and practice real-life skills:
- Executive Function & Time Management: Build strong study routines, use planners effectively, manage Schoology, Aspen, and Gmail, and plan ahead for tests and projects.
- Self-Advocacy & Communication: Learn how to email teachers, ask questions, and take initiative during Academic Support Periods.
- Social-Emotional Awareness: Gain confidence in asking for help, managing stress, and staying focused—supported by DSU’s caring staff and peer community.
- Fitness & Recreation: Unplug and recharge with basketball, pickleball, and backyard games that build energy and teamwork.
- Cooking Basics: Learn how to prepare snacks and simple meals safely and independently, using ServeSafe practices.
- Public Transportation: Navigate the GATRA bus, read schedules, and plan real-world outings around town.
- Teamwork & Problem Solving: Collaborate through engaging group challenges like The Amazing Race: Duxbury Edition.
- Personal Care & Creativity: Explore sewing, mindfulness, goal-setting, and reflection—skills that build confidence from the inside out.
- Celebrating Success: From field trips to ice cream sundaes, every milestone is celebrated—because growth deserves recognition.
