A Message from our Executive Director
Sue Bradford
Dear Friends,
Each day at DSU, I see what happens when a child feels safe, seen, and supported. It’s in the laughter from our after-school program, the determination on the faces of our CEO students, and the pride of a high school student landing their first job through the HIREDuxbury job fair.
Duxbury is a town that values its children. But our success as a community depends on more than great schools, it depends on shared spaces like DSU, where kids learn to collaborate, lead, and dream big.
We are not a town department, nor are we part of the public school system. DSU is an independent nonprofit that relies on the generosity of donors, families, and local businesses who believe, as we do, that raising resilient kids takes a whole community.
As you read these pages, you’ll see the impact of that belief and how your support builds stronger students, stronger families, and a stronger Duxbury.
Thank you for believing in this mission – for recognizing that when we invest in children, we invest in Duxbury’s future. Every contribution, every hour volunteered, every show of encouragement strengthens not only the students we serve, but the community we all share.
Together, we’re not just preparing kids for what comes next; we’re preparing them for life – helping them discover who they are, what they’re capable of, and how they can shape the world around them. That’s the power of the DSU — a launchpad for life, built by all of us, for the young people of our town.
With gratitude,
Sue Bradford
