Evan Sheehan
Assistant Group Leader
Evan Sheehan is an Assistant Group Leader at the Duxbury Student Union, where he brings enthusiasm, creativity, and a passion for supporting students’ growth both academically and socially.
Hailing from Weymouth, MA, Evan is a recent graduate of UMass Boston with a BA in English and a minor in Labor Studies. He is currently pursuing a master’s degree in English at UMass Boston, concentrating in pedagogy. His love of poetry and language enriches the activities he leads, often encouraging students to express themselves through storytelling, writing, and discussion.
Evan’s experience working with children began in high school, when he served as a preschool aide and developed a strong appreciation for early childhood education. He also captained the Xaverian Brothers High School soccer team, an experience that strengthened his leadership skills and taught him the value of teamwork, sportsmanship, and perseverance. His continued love for sports influences the active and collaborative games he helps lead at the DSU.
In his role at the DSU, Evan works to create an environment that is safe, fun, and conducive to learning. He strives to help every student build confidence, explore their interests, and feel supported. Evan is dedicated to fostering a welcoming community where students can thrive both inside and outside the classroom.
