Join Duxbury Student Union, a nonprofit youth development organization bringing big-world experiences to Duxbury youth through engaging, hands-on programs after school and on camp days.
What You'll Do
As a Group Leader or Assistant Group Leader, you’ll:
- Lead and mentor students during after school programs, camp days, and special events
- Create a welcoming, inclusive space where kids feel safe to explore and express themselves
- Design and deliver fun, meaningful activities in collaboration with DSU’s Program Manager
- Encourage teamwork, creativity, and curiosity through games, challenges, and structured play
- Communicate regularly with staff, students, and families to support strong relationships
- Be flexible and proactive, taking initiative when something needs attention
- Facilitate both indoor and outdoor group activities for up to 13 students
- Assist with daily setup, cleanup, and administrative tasks

Qualifications
- Prior experience working with youth (camp, tutoring, babysitting, coaching, classroom, etc.)
- High school diploma required; Associate’s or Bachelor’s (or in-progress) preferred
- Strong verbal, text and email communication skills
- Ability to take initiative and work independently when needed
Position Details
- Job Type: In-person, part-time
- Schedule: Monday–Friday, 1:30–5:15 PM (up to 14 hours/week, 2 shifts minimum). Additional hours available during school vacation weeks, camp days, evening events, and weekends
- Pay: Assistant Group Leader: Starting at $17/hour. Group Leader: Starting at $18/hour
